At Farsophone, our family therapy sessions offer a safe and supportive space for families to come together, explore challenges, and strengthen their relationships. Whether you’re facing ongoing conflict, communication breakdowns, or significant life changes, our therapists are here to help you reconnect and move forward as a family unit.
We offer up to 10 weekly sessions, each lasting 50 minutes. Our clinicians use an integrative approach, drawing on a range of therapeutic models to create a space where every family member feels heard, understood, and supported.
Please note: The current waiting time is approximately 4–6 months for family therapy. This timeframe is an estimate and may vary.
Who Is It For?
Family therapy may be helpful if your family is experiencing:
Frequent conflict, tension, or miscommunication
Parenting challenges or generational clashes
The impact of separation, divorce, or bereavement
Adjustments due to relocation, illness, or other life transitions
Blended family dynamics or shifts in family roles
Emotional disconnection or difficulty understanding one another
We work with families of all backgrounds and structures — including parents and children, siblings, extended families, and chosen families.
What to Expect
In the initial sessions, your therapist will work with your family to understand the current concerns, family dynamics, and shared goals. The process is collaborative, with a focus on creating open communication and mutual understanding.
Sessions provide space to express thoughts and emotions, improve listening skills, and learn healthier ways of relating. Over time, families often report feeling more connected, less reactive, and better able to navigate difficulties together.
Our Approach
We use an integrative therapeutic model tailored to your family’s needs. This may include:
Systemic and relational therapy to explore family patterns and roles
Emotionally focused approaches to build empathy and connection
Cognitive behavioural strategies (CBT) to develop practical tools for communication and problem-solving
Humanistic and person-centred models to ensure each voice is valued
This flexible and inclusive approach supports families in creating lasting change and stronger bonds.
