At Farsophone, we offer a supportive and non-judgmental space for couples and families to explore their challenges and build stronger, healthier relationships. Whether you’re navigating communication difficulties, recurring conflict, life transitions, or emotional disconnection, our therapists are here to help you reconnect, grow, and move forward together.
We provide up to 10 weekly sessions, each lasting 50 minutes. Our experienced clinicians use an integrative therapeutic approach, drawing on a range of models to ensure that each person, whether in a couple or a family unit, feels heard, understood, and supported.
Please note: The current waiting time is approximately 4–6 months for both couples and family therapy. This timeframe is an estimate and may vary depending on demand and clinician availability.
Who is it for ?
Couples and family therapy may be helpful if your relationship or family is experiencing:
-
Frequent conflict, tension, or miscommunication
-
Parenting challenges or generational clashes
-
The impact of separation, divorce, or bereavement
-
Adjustments due to relocation, illness, or other life transitions
-
Blended family dynamics or shifts in family roles
-
Emotional disconnection or difficulty understanding one another
-
Facing frequent arguments or communication breakdowns
-
Dealing with trust issues or unresolved conflict
-
Adjusting to new stages of your relationship
-
Seeking to strengthen your connection and understanding of one another
We work with families of all backgrounds and structures — including parents and children, siblings, extended families, and chosen families — and with couples of all backgrounds and orientations.
What to Expect
In the initial sessions, your therapist will work with you, whether as a family or as a couple, to understand your current concerns, relationship dynamics, and shared goals. The process is collaborative and focused on creating open communication and mutual understanding in a safe and supportive environment.
Sessions provide space to express thoughts and emotions, improve listening skills, and learn healthier ways of relating. For families, this often means feeling more connected, less reactive, and better able to navigate difficulties together. For couples, sessions focus on improving communication, building empathy and emotional understanding, navigating conflict constructively, and strengthening trust and connection.
Throughout therapy, the therapist remains neutral and supportive of all individuals involved, guiding you towards healthier and more fulfilling relationships.
Our Approach
Our therapists use an integrative model tailored to the specific needs of each couple or family. This approach may include:
-
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to build empathy and connection
-
Systemic and relational therapy to explore family patterns, roles, and relationship dynamics
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to develop practical tools for communication and problem-solving
-
Humanistic and person-centred frameworks to ensure every voice is valued
By combining these therapeutic approaches, we create a flexible and supportive space that adapts to your unique situation and helps you work towards your goals together.
